Month: June 2019

St. John’s Day – 24 June 2019

St John has a very special place in Freemasonry, as he is taken as one of the patrons of the Craft, and it was on this day in 1717 that the first Grand Lodge was officially formed in London. For Masons it is, therefore, the first day of a new Masonic year, and one where many celebrate with a Festival of Roses and a special Ritual Work.

The Ritual Work signifies the ending of the Masonic year, the beginning of a new Masonic year.

The three Roses signify Birth, Life and eventual Death at the end of a worthwhile and fulfilled life.

On behalf of the Worshipful Master, Officers and Brethren of this worthy Lodge, erected to the memory of the Holy St John, I wish you well.

Third Monday in June

Although the Lodge has started its annual vacation, there are still many opportunities for brethren, and other interested persons, to meet and talk in an informal and friendly atmosphere outside of the Lodge. The Third Monday meetings at the Kaiser Friedrich, in Schnoor, begin at 19:00, the next being on Monday, 17 June 2019, to which all brethren and anyone else with an interest in Freemasonry, are cordially invited.

To ensure a table of the right size, please inform the Bro. Secretary by mail – or the Contact Form on this web site – if you will be attending.
